Refresher

Not often enough

I consistently neglect to visit these little sites and therefore and predictably, forget the simplest of things. Today was no different. Wanted to make a few simple changes like;

Changing the title text.

A quick look at the file structure and ‘config.yaml’ shouted to me. Made changes in the relevant yaml line. Saved.

Creating a new post
Bit different. Had to go to the ‘Addins’ in the RStudio IDE, select the Yihue/Blogdown provided “New Post” - which on Click, opens up a handy panel to input the particulars for wished for page.

Inserting images The image above is hosted on my Google Drive. Embedded here now using the following Markdown

![](https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1SPT1v-wfvvWmS0bYpbSN-nhDx3wKuYF0)

Of interest: The embed link comprises a Drive ID “1SPT1v-wfvvWmS0bYpbSN-nhDx3wKuYF0” which can be obtained by lifting out of the SHARE link provided by Google at the time of giving permissions to ‘AnyoneWithLink’. That link is to an HTML window and therefore not much use for embedding. So I append the ID to the following prefix

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=

creating an own embed link - as shown in two paragraphs up.

Further to this. While its very possible to obtain metadata by using Google’s Details and Activities panel on Drive Rstudio has the rather handy ‘googledrive’ package - part of the Tidyverse environment, which allows Terminal or Command Line interaction with Drive.
